President Goodluck Jonathan has used the occasion of his 57th birthday to reassure the citizens that Nigeria will soon overcome all the challenges facing it as a nation.

To mark his birthday, the President was led in morning prayers by the chaplain of the Aso rock chapel, Venerable Obioma Onwuzurumba.

In attendance were the first lady, family members, some of his personnel aids, a few friends and well wishers.

Venerable Onwuzurumba prayed for peace in the country and that God will grant the president valiant men who will assist him to take Nigeria to the promise land.

The prayer session which lasted for about an hour in the presidents residence also featured bible reading and exhortations with the clerics present, asking God to grant the president the ability to fulfill his hearts desire for Nigerians.

The President was joined by the friends, presidential aids, and other well wishers in the cutting of the birthday cake.
