MASSOB, Biafra

MASSOBLeader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, has called for the removal of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, over strong allegations of partisanship, being bias and lack of credibility.

In a session with media at his residence in Owerri, Imo State, south-east Nigeria, Uwazuruike enumerated various reasons and laid various accusations on the INEC Chairman, stating reasons why he should not go ahead to conduct the forthcoming general elections slated for March 28 and April 11.

The MASSOB leader said fresh facts have emerged that Jega was planning to organise a “kangaroo election” where he intends to pronounce his preferred candidate the winner of the election.

Uwazuruike added that the INEC Chairman, at the moment, had not debunked any allegations of the several secret meetings linking him with some political party leaders in the country, noting that the same political party has started strong campaigns to ensure Jega is not removed before the elections for their own selfish interest.

Uwazuruike said further that if Jega insists on conducting the election, he may as well conduct elections only for northerners because he cannot conduct a predetermined election for the south, pointing that such action could unavoidably bring the nation to a serious crisis.
