
This affirmation was made by Governor Ikpeazu at the banquet hall of Government House, Umuahia, the state’s capital, on Wednesday while receiving the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministries (DCLM), Pastor William Kumuyi.
The Governor disclosed that he intended to tackle some of the infrastructural challenges by hinging on the partnership and collaboration of the African Development Bank (ADB) that approved a $200 million facility for Abia State to deal with the issues of water, sanitation and roads.
He noted that at least 5km of some of the critical roads in Aba including Ohanku and Port Harcourt Road would be attended to immediately and promised to mobilise men on site.
In another development, massive road rehabilitation are ongoing at Aba and some of the buildings erected on the drainage system had been earmarked for demolition.
Governor Ikpeazu, however, reiterated that the focal areas would be dealt with decisively, stressing that the visit by the Leader of the DCLM would spur the state into actions.
He added that the administration was bent on confronting the challenges, believing that God is bigger than any challenges, He would use Pastor Kumuyi’s visit to turn things around in the state.
In response to Ikpeazu’s assertion, Pastor Kumuyi who was in the state for an Annual Christian Outreach, urged the Governor to continue on the road construction effort in Aba.
He also commended him for the servant leader action of cutting his salary to aid in payment of workers’ salaries.
