Labaran-MakuThe Nassarawa State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the April 11 governorship election, Mr Labaran Maku, has tendered the Independent National Electoral Commission’s sensitive materials before the tribunal, challenging the election of Governor Tanko Al-makura.

Mr Maku, through his counsel, Joe Gadzama (SAN), questioned the outcome of the election, alleging massive vote rigging and claiming that he won the April 14 governorship election with over 17,000 votes.

Governor Al-Makura, in his defence, through Mr Yusuf Ali (SAN) said that the allegation of rigging was misplaced as the total votes cast tally with votes collated from the polling units and the voting points as empowered by the electoral laws.

Governor Tanko Al-makura of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner of the April 11 governorship election in Nasarawa State with 309,746 votes.

Mr Al-makura emerged victorious, winning in 12 out of the 13 Local Government Areas, leaving Mr Labaran Maku of APGA in second place with 178,983 votes.
