
In his valedictory speech, the immediate past Chairman of the State PDP, Comrade Hassan Salawu, thanked Governor Idris Wada for providing a level playing ground for all its members to participate in the conduct of the party congress in the state, which was held few days ago.
According to him, ‘leading the party to greater height in the state requires understanding, tolerance and focus’.
After the speech, an oath of office was conducted on the newly elected members after-which the immediate past Chairman handed over all party documents to the new Chairman, Mr Sam Ohuetu.
The Chairman of the North Central Zone of the PDP, Yusuf Maitogo, while inaugurating the new members, commended the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Olisah Metuh and other members of the three-man-committee for the successful conduct of both ward and state PDP Congresses.
He also urged the newly elected members to be open, transparent and must be ready to work for for the success of the party.
The State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, also commended the NWC for the successful conduct of the congresses which was adjudged the freest and fairest congress.
Governor Wada advised the new executive members to be united for the task ahead and also asked them to put their house together so as to move the party forward.
Governor Wada had earlier expressed confidence in the PDP’s ability to win the forthcoming governorship election in the state, saying his party was on a systematic and steady path.
