Michael-Brown

Michael-BrownFerguson town in U.S. is marking the first anniversary of the killing of an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown.

The shooting of the 18-year-old by white Police officer, Darren Wilson, sparked demonstrations across America on the eve of the anniversary.

Several hundreds, led by Brown’s father, marched through the town in his honour, along with killings of unarmed black men elsewhere in the U.S.

It also fuelled a national protest movement against racial bias by the Police.

Brown’s father said he wanted “to give all my love to my family, my friends, my people, my new friends” who had “made this happen for us”.

He added, “If it wasn’t for you all, this would be swept up, too.”
