IGPThe Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has called on officers and men of the force to remain resolute in pursuit of their statutory duties of maintaining law and order in the society, warning that the force would not hesitate to dismiss any officer found guilty of indiscipline and truancy.

The IGP gave this warning through his Deputy in charge of Logistics and Supply, Ibrahim Tsafe, on Monday during an inspection visit to the Kaduna State Police Command.

He restated his commitment to further improving the living standard of officers and men of the force as a way of boosting their morale and commitment to duty.

Addressing the officers and men of the command, Mr Tsafe explained that the problem of accommodation and other challenges confronting the Nigeria Police Force were being addressed.

He urged them to adopt new strategies to deal with the current realities in the country, stressing that the days of senior officers staying all through in the office without going to the field were over.

The IGP further acknowledged the commitment of the officers and men to duty and professionalism, aimed at providing safety and securing the nation. He further tasked them to improve on the successes recorded so far.

Earlier in his speech, the Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Umar Shehu, reeled out some of the challenges facing the command which include; inadequate accommodation for both officers and men, insufficient number of personnel and inadequate logistics, among others.

With 13,787 personnel in the command expected to secure over seven million people living in the state, the Commissioner admitted that this was inadequate.
