Ekiti Government Commences First Phase Of Airport Project

The Ekiti State Government is taking major steps in its effort at building an airport to be sited in Aso Ayegunle community.

The airport is expected to occupy about 4,000 hectares of land and the State Government has mobilised tractors and other earth moving equipment to prepare the place for construction.

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Works, Kayode Osho, who took journalists to the site on Friday, said that when completed, the airport would employ at least 1,000 indigenes of the state.

The Commissioner for Works, however, said that all farm land affected by the project would be adequately taken care of.

While responding, the people of the community, said that the Governor has done well, but he should also compensate the farm owners.
