Eleven people have been confirmed dead following an accident involving a trailer in a community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, South-east Nigeria.
It was gathered that the trailer, fully loaded with timber, lost control and rammed into stationary vehicles and a crowd of traders at a market in Umuchu town.
The accident left nine males and two females dead, while 21 others were injured. Four of the injured were said to be in critical conditions.
Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has visited the site and commiserated with the traditional ruler, Godson Ezechukwu and the people of the community.
He also visited the injured victims in the two hospitals where they were admitted and promised to bear the costs of their treatment.
