APGA Supporters Protest NASS Tribunal Ruling In AbiaThe All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) supporters have staged a protest against the National Assembly (NASS) Tribunal judgment that confirmed the elections of Some NASS members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Describing the judgment as an ‘injustice and reap to democracy’, the angry protesters carried placards with various inscriptions – “God, come to our rescue”, “We want justice”, “APGA leaders, can you recover our mandate” – as they marched to the APGA Secretariat in Umuahia the Abia State capital in south-east Nigeria.

The protesters beckoned on the leadership of the party to reclaim their mandate or face the consequences of their actions in coming days ahead.

APGA Chairman in Abia State, Augustine Ehiemere, who concurred with their displeasure over the development, promised the protesters that their demands would be addressed.

The Chief Press Secretary to the State Government, Godwin Adindu, has asked the state residents to see the victory at the Tribunal as a ‘victory for all’.

He urged the aggrieved to seek redress through the appropriate quarters, warning that the government would not fold its arms and allow individuals under any disguise to cause mayhem and unwanted destruction of lives and property.

Mr Ehiemere also stressed that all hands must be on deck to build Abia State, reiterating that the government would not condole any break down in law.
