Abubakar-Rabe-Colonel The Nigerian military says it will make the list of wanted persons suspected to be members of Boko Haram more available to schools, markets and other public places.

The list with the photographs of 100 suspected terrorists was displayed last month by the military to aid intelligence that would lead to further arrests.

After the list was made public, some of the suspects were arrested at different locations, one of whom was of Cameroonian descent.

The Director of Defence Intelligence, Colonel Abubakar Rabe, said the list of most wanted Boko Haram members released by the military had so far led to the arrest of five suspects.

While addressing reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, Colonel Rabe urged the general public to give the military and security agencies more information on the whereabouts of the terrorists.

He promised that the Defence Headquarters would make the list more available to schools, markets and other public places to further deepen the strategy that the military had adopted and also aid further arrests.

He also displayed images of some Improvised Explosive Devices worn as body vests by suicide bombers.

Cautioning Nigerians to be vigilant, he said: “This is used by suicide bombers to attack public places.

“Please, when people see it, they should know that this is dangerous to human beings”.

He was optimistic that as the military makes the list more available, more suspected terrorists will be arrested by the military.

“The synergy will continue between the military, other security agencies and the public.

“This is our nation, if you help with information, it will go a long way,” he stressed.

Weeks ago, a statement by the military had revealed that troops of 101 Task Force Battalion, 7 Division Garrison, arrested the number 28 suspect in the list in an unprecedented development along Lagos Street in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The statement also revealed that men of the Borno State Police Command, also arrested another suspected Boko Haram kingpin, Mohammed Usman, who was suspect number 40 on the wanted list at Abuja Talakawa Ward of Maiduguri metropolis.
