The Commissioner of Police, Adekunle Oladunjoye, shared his observation with reporters in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The measures, consisting of foot and vehicular patrols as well as neighbourhood watch and vigilante groups, according to the Police Commissioner, have been yielding positive results, making it impossible for criminals to operate effectively in the state.

Reeling out other achievements, he said that several cases ranging from culpable homicide, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy as well as dealing in arms and ammunition were some of the issues the Police confronted.

Mr Oladunjoye also added that apart from vandalising the Jos Electricity Distribution Company equipment, the slippers of the railway line of the Nigeria Railway Corporation were not spared by the criminals that succeeded in removing them but were caught in the act.

One of the suspects, having been severally released on bail, admitted that he has been driving the criminals whenever they went for their operations. He had been arrested on different occasions.
