bristowThe Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended Bristow’s operation of the Sikorsky helicopter type.

This follows the helicopter incident that occurred on Wednesday in which 11 people were rescued.

The Bristow Helicopter aircraft A 5N BJQ, flying at 1,500 feet with nine passengers was earlier reported missing.

The NCAA said that its decision is a precautionary measure and would not in anyway interfere with the ongoing investigation.

It will be recalled that this same aircraft was involved in the August 12, 2015 accident that claimed 6 lives.

The Bristow helicopter carrying 12 people plunged into the lagoon behind Oworonsoki Police Station.
