FulaniAn Assistant Inspector- General of Police (AIG) has blamed the crimes allegedly committed by Fulani cattle rearers in some Nigerian states on the migration of Fulani from neighbouring countries.

The AIG in charge of Zone Five, Musa Daura, made the observation on Wednesday during a meeting with the Hausa/Fulani communities and the traditional rulers of their host communities.

The Police officer explained that the influx of Fulani immigrants from Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Mali was largely responsible for the current upsurge in crimes allegedly perpetrated by Fulani cattle rearers in Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states.

The meeting which took place at the Police Zonal Headquarters in Benin City, the Edo State capital was held to strengthen the security of the areas and ensure mutual co-existence of the people.
