Home-based Eagles Beat U-23 Team 2-0 In Test Match

Home-based Eagles have intensified preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

This is coming after the Eagles defeated the National Under-23 team 2-0 in a test game played on Wednesday in Abuja.

The Eagles are preparing for an AFCON double-header against Egypt on March 25 and 29, while the U-23 team are also getting set to battle Rio Olympics hosts, Brazil in a friendly on March 24.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah forward, Bright Onyedikachi, opened scoring for the Eagles, before Godwin Obaje doubled the tally.

The selected home-based players for the Egypt matches would move to the match venue of Kaduna on March 20, where they would be joined by the 21 foreign-based professionals invited for the qualifiers by caretaker coach, Samson Siasia.
