SecurityThe Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has called for a multi-agency collaboration to consolidate on the relative peace enjoyed in communities the military has liberated from insurgents in the northeast.

He said this at a joint security meeting with representatives of the civilian joint task force and the British High Commission in Abuja to discuss how to consolidate on the peace being enjoyed in some communities liberated from Boko Haram in the northeast.

The Police boss said that such collaboration is needed to sustain the peace as Police take over liberated communities from the military.

The Borno State coordinator of the civilian joint task force also requested that the military should retain their services in the liberated communities.

Asked what the role of the British government would be in retaining peace in the region, the representative of the British High Commission, Gary White, promised that they would play an advisory role.
