Olympic swimming legend, Michael Phelps, on Thursday claimed his 22nd Olympic gold medal following a commanding win in the 200 metres individual medley.

The American’s 22nd overall gold makes it his forth gold from the Rio Games with a winning margin of 1.95 seconds.

On Thursday, Phelps claimed his 20th and 21st Gold medal at the Olympic Games as he triumphed in the 200 metres butterfly and the 4×200 metres freestyle relay.

Meanwhile, in the Rio Olympics overall medal table, the United States of America dominates the standings with 16 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze while China falls behind in 2nd with 11 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze.
