FEC, Wind Power ProjectThe Federal Government has approved a contract for the completion of the 10 megawatts wind power project abandoned in Katsina State since 2012.

The completion is said to be in line with the government’s effort to introduce renewable energy in the Nigeria.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, gave the hint on Wednesday after a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

He told journalists, that the government also approved the completion of the Federal Secretariat, to accommodate Federal Government officials posted to Anambra, Bayelsa, Gombe, Nasarawa, Osun and Zamfara states.

The Minister says the approved projects are at various stages of completion.

FEC also approved that the flight simulator training project sited in Lagos by the past administration be relocated to the Aviation Training School, Zaria in Kaduna State, where it would be put into proper use.

The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Haddi Serika, who briefed reporters on the development, said that the council also approved an industrial port development in Badagry.

He said full business case for the project would be presented subsequently for approval.
