Yobe Govt. Approves 3.7bn Naira For Education, OthersThe Yobe State Government says it is partnering with the Dangote Foundation to fast track rebuilding process in the insurgency prone state.

The Yobe State Deputy Governor and chairman of the rehabilitation, reconstruction and resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the State, Abubakar Aliyu revealed this while flagging off the distribution of 10 trucks of food items donated to IDPs in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

Items distributed include; 1,200 bags of rice. 6000 cartoon of Dangote spaghetti, 6000 cartons of noodles, 3000 bags of Dangote sugar, 2,250 bags of salts and 3000 cartons of seasoning as women, children and men all converge at the distribution arena to get the share of the relief materials.

The Deputy Governor recalled that the Dangote Foundation had made several of such donations and more efforts are being made towards rebuilding the health facilities in Gujba and Gulani Local Governments which were hitherto taken over by the insurgents.

He described the distribution of the food items as very timely as it will go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the returnees and calls on other Governments, Development partners, philanthropies, and other stakeholders to come to the aid of government and the displaced in the state so as to face squarely the challenges of reconstruction, rehabilitation, reintegration and peace building in the state.

While commending the Dangote foundation for the gesture, Mr Aliyu appreciated the return of peace, which has led to reduction in the number of IDPs across the state as lots of them have return to their ancestral homes.

He assured that the materials supplied will be evenly distributed and assures that Government will continue to work assiduously towards the full settlement of the displaced.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive of Dangote Foundation, Mrs Zouera Youssoufou said they are in the state to show sympathy and support to the IDPs as similar gesture will be extended to other affected states like Adamawa and Borno state.

Dangote foundation she said has been assisting the insurgency states in the area of food supply, health care facilities among others and will not relent.

Meanwhile, the chairman Gujba Local Government area Kyari Batarama while appreciating the efforts of Government and donor agencies in the rebuilding process also disclosed that healthcare facilities and school enrollment within liberated areas have improved tremendously.

The Chief Executive of Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote had in July this year through a video feed during a meeting with Bill Gate and Yobe state Government to appraise the progress made in the fight against polio and other eight child killer diseases in Yobe state, promised to rebuild the destroyed health facilities in Gujba and Gulani Local Government areas of the state which were captured by the Boko Haram insurgents.
