Abducted House of Representatives member, Garba Durbunde who represents Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency of Kano State, has regained freedom from his abductors,barely 24 hours after he was kidnapped by gunmen in Kaduna State.The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr Mohammed Garba who confirmed his release to Channels Television, revealed that the Federal Lawmaker regained freedom from his abductors on Wednesday evening.
While Garba did not specify if any ransom was paid to the kidnappers before the release of Mr Durbunde, the Commissioner disclosed that the lawmaker was released unhurt and has reunited with his family in Abuja.
Mr. Durbunde, who represents Sumaila/Takai federal constituency, was kidnapped early Tuesday along Kaduna- Jere road on his way to Abuja from Kano.
