
The crash, which involved a trailer loaded with bottled drinks, a bullion van belonging to a first generation bank and two other vehicles, occurred on Wednesday evening.
Eyewitnesses said the vehicle loaded with supplies was headed to Gombe from Kaduna when it suffered brake failure, hit two vehicles before crushing the bullion van which had three occupants.

Security agents including members of the Federal Road Safety Corps were at the scene and helped to get the injured to hospitals, control traffic and clear the road, which was littered with broken bottles.
The roundabout is a major one as vehicles coming from the north central as well as southern parts of the country have to pass through on their way to the north eastern and north western parts of the country as well as other communities in the state.
Witnesses said the driver of the bullion van and the escort, a sergeant of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the bank died on the spot while the third occupant of the van, an employee of the bank sustained injured and was taken to the Bingham University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
