A Presidential aspirant under the political party, National Interest Party (NIP), Eunice Atuejide, says she has what it takes to lead Nigeria and move the nation forward.

The female aspirant in an interview on Channels Television Political Programme, Sunday Politics, says she the most prepared candidate for the job of moving the nation forward.

“I want to be President because I have the necessary skills and necessary empathy to help this country move forward. We have had a lot of leaders in the past who don’t care about how the decisions they make affect the common man. I have been on the receiving end of these bad decisions and bad policies and I don’t want to be at the receiving end anymore but change things so that our kids can have a better country.

“I don’t think there is anyone else better prepared for that job than I am,” she said.

The 39-year-old legal practitioner and founder of the political party, NIP, added that she believes Nigeria is ready for a female president and she is in the best position to convince the country to accept this and vote for a female leader.

“Nigeria is definitely ready for a female president but a lot more is required of me as a woman to convince them that I’m ready.

“When you are waiting for your turn, your turn might never come, but when you see the opportunity and you take it, that’s what Obama did. Obama didn’t wait for his turn, that’s how he became the president,” she said.

Speaking concerning her plans and changes she will make when she emerge as President of Nigeria, Atuejide said she will be a transparent and accountable leader.

“Very urgently, we need transparency and accountability. We need to have that for the country to move forward. The worst of our problems is that in privatising the energy production and distribution in Nigeria our government did something very unfair.

“They held it down when it comes to distribution so you can produce as much energy as you want to in Nigeria but you must send it to the national grid and once it gets to the national grid, you lose control.”

She added that the first thing her administration will do about electricity is to make it possible for the private sector to, not only produce but be able to transmit and distribute electricity.
