Nigerian children joined their counterparts across the world to celebrate the Children’s Day which holds annually on May 27.

Beyond the celebrations, it is also a day in which organisations analyse the plight of children in the society and the efforts by government and non-government agencies to improve their welfare.

In recent times, issues such as child labour, kidnapping, molestation among others, which have led to an increasing number of out of school children have been on the front burner with child rights activists intensifying efforts to give children a voice.
