Britain’s Foreign Office summoned China’s ambassador on Wednesday to discuss the situation in Hong Kong, a source at the ministry told AFP.

News of the meeting, scheduled for later in the day, came after the envoy, Liu Xiaoming, warned London not to criticise the treatment of Hong Kong protesters.
