Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has sworn in four new commissioners and five permanent secretaries.

A new Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development has also been created in the state.

The new commissioners and permanent secretaries took their oath of office in a brief ceremony at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo.

Governor Emmanuel charged the new Commissioners and permanent secretaries to see their appointments as a call to service for the general good of the people and urged them to use their experience and robust credentials to bear on their duties as they contribute their quota for the success of his completion agenda.

He congratulated the new appointees and urged those who couldn’t make it as Permanent Secretaries to brush up for another opportunity.

The new Commissioners included Uko Udom (SAN), to replace Uwemediimoh Nwoko, (SAN) as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General; Dr. John James Edet was posted to the newly created Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development.

Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet will be in charge of the Ministry of Education. She takes over from Mrs. Enobong Mbobo now redeployed to the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives while Pastor Umo Eno takes over Arch Ime Ekpo as Commissioner for Lands and Water.

The five Permanent Secretaries on the other hand included: Mr. Ini James Ikie, Dr. Ini Jackson Etukudo, Mrs. Esther Aniekan Inyang, Mrs. Grace Paulinus Jim, and Mrs. Abasiekeme Victor Essien.
