Gunmen have reportedly attacked an 18-seater commuter bus in Ondo State, abducting an unspecified number of passengers.
The incident happened on Saturday evening around Irun-Akoko, along the Ikare-Akoko/Ado Ekiti Road in Ondo State.
But an investigation has been launched into the attack, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya said on Sunday.
The abduction is the latest case of kidnapping which is affecting several states in Nigeria. Despite reassurances from security agencies and government authorities, the situation has not abated in recent years.
