FULL LIST: Agege Tops Lagos’ Hazardous Air Quality Index

The index released on Tuesday captured Agege scoring as high as 103 per cent (hazardous), signalling a suboptimal air quality for residents.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has released its Air Quality Index, which saw Agege and Surulere topping the list of cities with the most hazardous and very unhealthy air quality respectively in the state.

The index released on Tuesday captured Agege scoring as high as 103 per cent (hazardous), signalling a suboptimal air quality for residents.

Surulere comes next with 76.1 per cent (very unhealthy), Mushin with 47.3 per cent (unhealthy), and LAMATA Kosefe with 46 per cent (unhealthy).

The Lagos Port at Apapa comes next with 36.4 per cent (unhealthy), Badagry with 23.8 per cent (unhealthy for sensitive groups), Moloney Street gets 20.7 per cent (unhealthy for sensitive groups), Egbeda 15.7 per cent (moderate), and NIMET Oshodi with 14.1 per cent (moderate).

The General Hospital Ikeja comes next with 12.6 per cent (moderate), and LSDPC Est, Lagos Island 12.1 per cent (moderate).

Lekki topped the list of cities with good air quality at 10.1 per cent, while LASEPA scored itself at 7.6 per cent (good air quality).

Speaking on the index, LASEPA said while the air quality may not be optimal, it assured Lagos residents that it is working tirelessly to enhance the state’s air quality.
