A federal lawmaker representing Yabo/Shagari in Sokoto state, Umar Yusuf Yabo has empowered people with pumping machines, sewing machines and bikes to help cushion the effect of economic hardship

The lawmaker said, the empowerment programme has nothing to do with politics, but efforts to address the plight of citizens irrespective of their political affiliation

Farmers were provided with water pumping machines to engage in dry season farming as women were encouraged to engage in economic activities with over two hundred sewing and grinding machines distributed to boost economic activities in the area.
