Katsina: Teachers Decry Poor Students Attendance As Schools Resume

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to take education very seriously to groom better leaders of tomorrow.

Teachers in Katsina State have decried poor attendance of pupils as schools resume on Monday across the 34 LGAs of the state.

Although, current economic hardship might be termed as one of the major factors responsible for this, parents and caregivers, are encouraged to take education very seriously to groom better leaders of tomorrow.

On a visit to Danmasani Bala Saulawa Primary School situated at Gidan-Dawa, a classroom teacher, Malam Umar Lawal described the turnout of teachers as impressive.

He told Channels Television Correspondent that, the pupils were during the assembly, directed to inform others yet to resume to do so otherwise be punished.

Lawal further urged teachers and staff to avoid arriving late to school, asking them to put much effort into succeeding in their daily activities.

“The school has resumed today Monday, 6th January, 2025 with full attendance of teachers but we have poor attendance of learners.

“During the assembly, the pupils were directed to inform others to ensure that they resume. We equally urged teachers and staff to avoid late coming and put much effort into succeeding in their activities”, he said.
