Umma Getso, the 2019 vice presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), says some women in politics falsely accuse men of sexual harassment for political interest.
The activist was a guest on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief programme on Monday.
Getso demanded justice in the case between Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

She said, “Let there be justice. Let women be treated right wherever they are but I am very sorry to say this to a lot of women: I’ve worked with a lot of men, national and internationally, different caliber.
“When I hear women say I am sexually harassed, there is a lot of definition to that or we need to redefine what sexual harassment is.
“We have seen it in a lot of places in the world, not only in Nigeria, whereby women took advantage of them being women and raise such kind of accusation for other personal interest.
“If a lady sitting in the Senate, being in that position, is now crying of being sexually harassed by a man. I know a lot of men that are allowing their women to come into the political game will be a little bit scared.”
