Governor Umo Eno’s recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio has drawn high praise from Rep. Okpolupm Etteh, who represents the Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Describing the move as “bold, pragmatic, and visionary,” Rep. Etteh commended the Akwa Ibom governor for putting the state’s development above party allegiance. In a personally signed statement, Etteh said Governor Eno’s decision marks a significant step toward unlocking the vast developmental potential available through federal collaboration.
“This is not about party lines—it is about progress,” Etteh stated. “Governor Eno has demonstrated statesmanship by choosing a path that places the peace, unity, and prosperity of Akwa Ibom at the forefront.”

The lawmaker highlighted the strategic importance of aligning with the federal leadership, particularly with a son of the state, Senator Akpabio, holding the position of Senate President. He emphasized that the synergy created through such alignment could catalyze tangible benefits for Akwa Ibom, especially in the areas of infrastructure, economic development, and social investment.
Etteh praised the governor’s inclusive posture, noting that it reflects a deep understanding of governance as a tool for collective advancement rather than political rivalry. “This is a signal to the nation that leadership rooted in collaboration can achieve more than division ever could,” he said.
He further lauded the symbolic significance of extending political goodwill to Senator Akpabio, describing it as a powerful message of reconciliation and unity among Akwa Ibom’s national stakeholders. “Your support for the Senate President is more than a political gesture—it is a reaffirmation of homegrown leadership and shared responsibility,” Etteh added.
The federal lawmaker pledged his full support for the governor’s efforts to prioritize the interests of Akwa Ibom, expressing optimism that the alignment would foster long-term gains for the state. “Together, we can chart a new path of accelerated development, driven by unity and guided by a common vision,” he concluded.
Governor Eno’s endorsement comes at a time when political leaders across Nigeria are being called upon to bridge partisan divides in pursuit of national progress and regional transformation.
