China has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cultural and tourism cooperation with Nigeria as stakeholders from both countries gathered in Abuja to celebrate the 2026 China Tourism Day.
Speaking during the event held at the China Cultural Centre in Abuja on Friday, the Director of the China Cultural Centre in Nigeria, Yang Jianxing, described tourism as a vital tool for promoting cultural exchange, friendship, and mutual understanding among nations.
Yang said China and Nigeria share a rich cultural heritage and historical values capable of driving stronger people-to-people relations and economic opportunities through tourism.

He further encouraged Nigerians to visit China to experience its rich history, modern development, and cultural diversity, while also expressing optimism for increased Chinese tourism interest in Nigeria.
The event featured cultural exhibitions, tourism showcases, and interactions aimed at promoting stronger China-Nigeria relations under the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges initiative.
