sadaNigeria’s Minister for Mines and Steels Development, Mr Mohammed Sada, has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to regulating mining industries across the country in order to ensure strict compliance with the safety standards put in place to further provide secured terrain and environments for Nigerians to survive.

While inspecting some facilities in Ilorin, Mr Sada told reporters that the National Assembly would pass the Metallurgical Industry Bill into law before the end of the current legislative session to further tour the road-map to the nation’s economic growth, development and sustainability.

He also described the mining sector as a major player in the nation’s building process stressing that “the materials needed must be available in a sustainable manner for the development of Nigeria”.

He urged mining industries to ensure they meet up with the required global safety standards and storage facilities for explosives especially with the current security challenges.

The minister stressed  that “environmental, human and community relations’ factors should be adequately taken care of in line with the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan”.
