Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has critcised President Bola Tinubu’s government, alleging that it is a failure.
El-Rufai, one of Tinubu’s former allies, stated this on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
He said there were so many things going wrong in the country, faulting the administration’s policies.
“It is fair to call this government a failure. The results are on the ground, we are free to assess our government, even two weeks after, by its policies. We are the voters, we are the judge,” El-Rufai stated.
He also lamented that the economy and security were worse off under President Tinubu.
“Tinubu Will Come Third In 2027 Election”
The former governor also predicted that President Tinubu would finish third in the 2027 presidential election.
El-Rufai, now a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, said that he had “done” his “maths” and concluded that Tinubu had no “pathway to win” the election outright on the first ballot.
“Tinubu will be third in the 2027 election. I have done my maths, and I can tell you Tinubu has no pathway to win. The worst-case scenario is that there will not be any winner in the first ballot,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to evaluate the government based on their personal well-being.
He also accused the Federal Government of providing a soft landing for bandits terrorising different parts of the country.
He alleged that the government was empowering bandits by paying them a “monthly allowance,” sending “food to them in the name of non-kinetic, describing it as a kiss-the-bandits policy.
“What I will not do is to pay bandits, give them a monthly allowance, or send food to them in the name of non-kinetic. It’s nonsense; we’re empowering bandits.
“It’s not the government of Kaduna State; it’s a national policy driven by the Office of the National Security Adviser, and Kaduna is part of it. Kiss the bandits; that’s the new policy,” he added.
