Urban Highlife singer, Adekunle Gold has revealed the title of the full body of work – GOLD.
In a telephone chat with Channels TV’s Entertainment News presenter, Mayowa Ogundele, the ‘Orente’ crooner said that although he’s keeping details of guest features close to his chest, the album will be released sometime between May and June and it will contain many surprises.
“It’s in the works. If I’m featuring anybody or not, I am not ready to say yet, but, definitely there are surprises on the album’.
He described the album as ‘a piece of a mind’ as he tells different stories about his life experiences as well as the stories of other people.
“I’ve been working round the clock to make sure it’s an amazing one”, he said, adding that Pheelz, Oscar and Seyi Keys are some of the producers working on the album.
According to him, the album will be one big ‘gist’, an avenue for him to tell stories he didn’t get a chance to tell. “I’m just to gist about everything”, he said.
Adekunle Gold took Nigeria’s music industry by storm with the release of his debut song as a solo artiste, Sade, a story about his reluctant love interest, which has been followed by two more hits – Orente, Pick Up and now a new track he calls Ready.
His unique sound, a rhythmic story-telling delivery have seen him win top awards – All Africa Music Awards, Headies – within a short time of making his entry into the industry.
With the release of ‘Ready’, a song in which he professes his readiness to be in love, the YBNL star is, perhaps, telling the world that his debut album is READY.
Singer, Darey has said that the third edition of his annual musical concert tagged Love Like A Movie (LLAM) will hold before the year runs out.
In an exclusive telephone chat with Entertainment News presenter, Mayowa Ogundele, Darey revealed that the show, which was supposed to hold in February as is the tradition, had to be cancelled as a result of the general elections which had been scheduled for the same date; February 14.
LLAM has been credited as one of the best produced shows in Nigeria and the choice of popular international celebrities as co-hosts always serves as a major attraction for music lovers.
Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian as well as singer Kelly Rowland were co-hosts during the first (2013) and second (2015) editions respectively.
Asked which celebrity will be invited to co-host for this year’s edition, Darey chose to keep the name under wraps.
Social blogging site, twitter went haywire when actor and film maker, Kunle Afolayan let loose some tweets about piracy and the role Igbos play in it.
Kunle, whose recent movie, October 1 won several awards at the AMVCA 2015, disclosed to his over 40 thousand followers that pirates of Igbo extraction were threatening to release the film in the market.

Nollywood rave of the moment, OC Ukeje won’t mind being called a ‘mini David Oyelowo’.
OC said that much while praising the creativity of his Hollywood counterpart, David, at the premiere of the Martin Luther King Jr biopic, Selma, in Lagos.
In a chat with Channels Television’s Entertainment Correspondent, Mayowa Ogundele, OC Ukeje said:
“David Oyelowo is phenomenal and I’ve seen a couple of his films. I think he has a presence for every role he has ever done.”
He continued, “I think David Oyelowo is someone to.. emulate. That would be a career path to look at” and with a wide smile on his face, he added “I would not be minding being called a mini David Oyelowo”.
Selma, a historical drama film centres on the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights Marches led by civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr, who was known for his non-violent approach to demanding rights for black Americans.
The Ava DuVernay directed film premiered at the Rock Cathedral in Lagos as the first Hollywood movie premiere in Nigeria, with Nigerian Hollywood actors, David Oyelowo and Carmen Ejogo in attendance.
The movie was shown free to a selected audience by House on the Rock church in partnership with the U.S mission in Nigeria, to promote peace as the general elections approach.
Speaking on this, OC Ukeje expressed hope that the movie would sensitize Nigerians to be “a bit more sensitive to the things that are happening around us and to be involved in our own very little levels… just so we can create a polity that makes sense”.
Aristokrat Records rapper, Pucado, hit the limelight following the release of his X-rated “Ukwu Nka” video, in 2013.
The raunchy video which set tongues wagging had video vixens twerking in their ‘birthday suits’, making it the first video of its kind, in Nigeria.
In an exclusive interview with Channels Television, Pucado talked about the video, his career and the price he has had to pay for music and fame.
“I wouldn’t lie. I wanted the video to be raunchy because I wanted something that will be captivating. I don’t want something you’ll watch and you say “cool”. I wanted something you must talk about.”
The video was shot by Clarence Peters, and “we decided to go a little bit extreme just to make sure that we do something that has not been done before and that was where the idea of the ladies going stark naked came in”.
Although the video raised many eyebrows, Pucado insisted that it was done creatively, “to show the beauty of an African woman”.
Pucado, who set to take the entertainment industry by storm, told EN that Pucado is not just a music brand but a lifestyle brand. According to him, 85 percent of his songs and videos reflect his personality.
“I actually like girls that twerk, a whole lot… so if I’m going to the club, I’m coming with the club with like 10 babes… that’s the beauty about my brand,” he said.
Despite his rise in music, he has suffered set-backs on the home front.
“While I was trying to do music, I had serious problems with my family. They didn’t want me to do music, so I left and ever since I’ve not been back,” Pucado revealed.
