The £3000 visa bond being proposed by the United Kingdom’s Home Office for Nigerian travelers have been described as an insult to Nigerians.

The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu at an event where the Deputy British High Commission, Peter Carter was present, said the move by the British government is an insult to Nigeria.

The British envoy later explained that the policy is a ‘pilot scheme’ which is yet to be finalised and ‘if’ it is implemented, the policy he claimed will only affect a small number of travelers who are considered as risk to due to their antecedence.
