The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has confirmed the appointment of Professor Saburi Adejimi Adesanya as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the state owned university, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. 
According to a press statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, the appointment takes immediate effect.
Mr Adesanya, a Professor of Pharmacognosy was named the acting Vice-Chancellor of the University on 27 July 2012 by the institution’s Board.
An erudite scholar, Mr Adesanya has a Doctorate degree in Pharmacognosy from the University of London in 1984. He also holds Masters in Philosophy and Bachelor of Chemistry from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Ibadan respectively.
He has teaching experience spanning about 29 years and was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife from 2009-2012 from where he was appointed acting Vice-Chancellor of the Olabisi Onabanjo University.
