He stated that the development of the CGC has helped to check insecurity and reduce crime in the state.

Governor Okorocha who was a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, ahead of the Governors’ Forum Retreat in Port Harcourt, said that during his campaign to become governor, he assured the indigenes of adequate security which he said he has put in place with the help of the traditional rulers and the youths under the development of the Community Government Council.

He noted that leaving the job for the police alone will not save the community, as the help of the youths and the vigilante will add to security consciousness in the state.

He further stated that poverty is one of the causes of insecurity in the state, “if poverty is solved, insecurity will reduce”
