No fewer than twenty one areas of Jos metropolis in North Central Nigeria were earmarked to be destroyed with explosives before the Christmas by unidentified persons through a threat letter circulating in the City Capital.

According to the threat letters signed by one Idris Musa, the destructions are targeted at worship centres as well as relaxation and social centres across the metropolis as the Christmas celebrations approach.
The Special Task Force, ‘Operation Safe Haven’ spokesman in charge of restoring and maintaining peace in Plateau state,Captain Charles Ekeocha confirmed the threat letter, however, urge citizens not to panic as the task force has put security network in place to forestall any form of threat to the peace of the state.

The City of Jos, Plateau State Capital has been in the news for the wrong reasons in recent times and just within the week, a faceless group printed letters distributed around the city threatening to disrupt the Christmas and New Year celebrations by throwing explosives at strategic places.
Many residents now resort to closing at their business premises earlier than before while many completed shopping for the forthcoming yuletide on time.
Nevertheless, security consciousness is on the lips of every resident in Jos.
Having received the threat letters, the Special Task Force is leaving no stone unturned as security has been beefed up with twenty four hour surveillance and check points at intervals within the metropolis with particular concentration on the mentioned areas.
The threat being made is coming to residents at a time that they are yet to fully recover from last year Christmas Eve’s multiple explosion in the City of Jos that destroyed many property and claimed lives while some people are still living with the scar of the incident or with deformities while others are still in the hospital.
