Spotted on Relaxnews.com – These were the most fascinating fashion videos on YouTube for the year 2011, we know this to be true because they got the most views, YouTube revealed on 20 December.
A tutorial video showcasing all 25 fab ways to tie a scarf (not a gele, by the way) came out on top as the most-watched fashion video; in fact, three of the top videos are instructional videos, while another showing how to transform a man’s shirt into a dress also proved very popular.
Vietnamese-American makeup artist Michelle Phan, who joined You Tube in 2006 and is best known for her makeup and beauty tutorials, is the only person featuring twice in the top five.
Here are the YouTube fashion videos to have received the most views in 2011:
- Number 1 on the playlist is: “25 Ways to Wear a Scarf in 4.5 Minutes!”
Style blogger Wendy Nguyen of wendyslookbook.com, received 8 160 992 views in 2011 for her artistic tutorial offering 25 different ways to wear a scarf including traditional varieties such as the “classic drape” to more experimental methods such as the “fake knot.”
- Next, “Fashion Friday: Favorite Spring Dresses!”
American makeup enthusiast julieg713 has been offering fashion and beauty tutorials on YouTube since joining in 2006 and received 2 948 116 views for an edition of her weekly “Fashion Friday” show dedicated to spring dresses.
- Although not as popular as Wendy’s this “Ways to Wear a Scarf” video still made it to the top five.
The first appearance in the top five from Michelle Phan, in which the makeup artist teams up with wardrobe stylist Chriselle Lim to show how to dress an outfit up or down with the addition of a scarf. The video received 2 571 011 views.
- Coming in at number four is “How I Wear My Jeans” another by Michelle Phan
The second appearance in the top five from Michelle Phan received 2 239 945 views. In this video Phan again teams up with Lim although this time the pair offer advice on ways to wear jeans.
- Fifth of the top five viewed videos – “Ex-men’s shirt as new dress for you”
A video following model Ira Zvidrina as she transforms a man’s shirt into a mini-dress rounded out the top five with 1 839 430 views. The video was added by nobody66664 back in July.
