Armed soldiers at the Dalet Barracks, the Ribadu Cantonment, the Nigerian Air Force Base and Nigeria Air Force Training Command, searched vehicles of visitors and even military personnel entering the offices with metal detectors and other gadgets. The suspected suicide bomber on Tuesday was alleged to have worn a military outfit while driving into the military barracks.

Roads leading to the military formations were barricaded with armed soldiers checking all vehicles and turning back many motorists.

The situation at the Kaduna State Police Command and the State Command of the State Security Service located within the same premises looked deserted and devoid of the usual activities.

Anti-riot policemen were on guard at the checkpoints on the Bida Road location of the police command.

GOVERNOR PLEAD FOR CALM

Meanwhile, the Kaduna state governor, Patrick Yakowa has pleaded for continued peaceful co-existence amongst the people of the state.

Mr Yakowa in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Reuben Buhari pledged his administration’s determination to ensure the development of all parts of the state.

The governor also appealed for the cooperation of all residents in his administration’s efforts to develop the state, adding that he would swing into action with the implementation of the 2012 budget as soon as it is passed by the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
