President Goodluck Jonathan will be leading Nigeria’s delegation to the World Nuclear Security Summit which opens in Seoul, the South Korean capital on Monday, March 26.
A statement by the President spokesman, Reuben Abati states that the president is expected to depart Abuja, Saturday evening for the meeting in Seoul.
President Jonathan and about 52 other Heads of State and international organizations are expected to participate in the summit which will discuss global cooperative measures to combat the threat of nuclear terrorism.
The protection of nuclear materials and related facilities as well as the prevention of illicit trafficking in nuclear materials are also on the agenda of the summit.
President Jonathan will also hold bilateral talks with other world leaders and meet with representatives of the Nigerian Community in South Korea on the side lines of the summit.
The President is scheduled to return to Abuja on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012.
