President Goodluck Jonathan, late on Sunday, met with the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state at the presidential villa.
The meeting which lasted for about two hours had in attendance prominent politicians from the party, including the party’s national chairman, Bamanga Tukur, a former national vice chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Tony Aneni, and the Esama of Benin, Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.
The meeting was also attended by the PDP’s governorship candidate, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) and the Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the party, Dan Orbih.
Details of the meeting was not made known to state house correspondents but sources say that it is not unconnected with the forthcoming July 14 governorship elections in the state.
