The corpse of a one day old baby boy was on Tuesday, discovered at his mother’s residence in Barkin Sale Area of Minna, the capital of Niger state.
Channels Television gathered that neighbours started suspecting foul play when Amina, the mother of the baby, a single lady was nowhere to be found, hours after giving birth to the baby.
After waiting for hours the worried neighbours forced their way through the door of her room, only to find the lifeless body of the one day old baby.
When contacted the Public Relations Officer of the Niger state Police, ASP Pious Edobor while confirming the story said the command has commenced a search for the mother while the remains of the baby has been deposited at the Minna General hospital.
