The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has accused the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of stifling opposition parties through sponsored crisis in a determined bid to destabilize the nation’s democracy.

Addressing a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, chairman of the CNPP, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, alleged that the PDP is conniving with the judiciary to strangulate viable opposition parties in the country with a view to perpetuating themselves in office.

The CNPP appealed to the National Judicial Council to investigate the Chief Judge of Enugu state for allegedly extending, by 48 days, an Ex-parte order restraining the chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh from running the affairs of the party.

CNPP in its appeal noted that the judge’s ruling is coming despite a motion on notice seeking to vacate the earlier order of the court filed by Chief Umeh.
