Former minister of women affairs, Ambassador Judith Attah has called for the harmonization of the nation’s pensions scheme.

Ambassador Attah, who was speaking at a meeting to mark this year’s International Day for Older Persons in Abuja, said that the harmonized scheme will assist in tackling issues of delay in the payment of pensions and gratuities of elderly persons who are often left at the mercy of their children who barely have enough for themselves.

On her part, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Missus Zainab Maina  described the plight of persons as pathetic, promised that government will come up with policies to assist this group of Nigerians.
