The Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero
Seven people have been arrested in connection with the attack on the Emir of Kano Ado Bayero which led to the death of six people including three palace guards and a local government official.
Addressing a news conference in Kano, the state Police Commissioner Ibrahim Idris said that eight other suspects have been declared wanted.
The Commissioner disclosed that the suspects voluntarily confessed to have participated in the attack and other insurgencies within Kano metropolis.
Adamu Sani, the leader of the paraded gang of six, confessed to have taken part in the operation.
He also revealed that he was introduced in to the Boko Haram by one Malam Salisu Muhammed of Unguwa Uku quaters and Malam Sharif Gali, the Imam of Filin cashew in Kano.
Meanwhile the police command has declared eight other people wanted including an Islamic scholar living at Unguwa Uku quaters.
The command has appealed to Kano residents to assist in arresting the wanted terrorists.
The pupils and teachers were kidnapped during a fatal attack by bandits on May 15.
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency confirmed that no casualties were recorded in the incident.
