
The game which will take place on Friday, May 31 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, will be the third of the five games the Mexican Team will be playing.
The game against Nigeria has been tagged very crucial for the Mexican team and coach Jose Manuel de la Torre, as it will be the team’s final preparation match, ahead of the Hexagonal CONCACAF World Cup qualifying round matches.
Nigeria, crowned champion of the 2013 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations after a 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso in the final will also travel to Brazil in July to participate in the FIFA Confederations Cup where they will face Spain, Uruguay and Tahiti in the group stage.
Mexico and Nigeria have met three times with a 1-0-2 record in favour of Mexico. The two teams last met in October of 2007 in an international friendly, with the match ending in a 2-2 tie at the Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez in Chihuahua, Mexico.
