It has been confirmed that two players of the Super Eagles Afcon 2013 squad, Papa Idris and Gabriel Reuben, are to sign for Kilmarnock FC, a club in the Scottish Premier League.

Both players of NFPL side, Kano Pillars, were said to have completed or close to completing their transfer, thanks to Tony Harris who is an English manager and was said to have been behind the move. He said that there is nothing else to be done by the players except to report to Ayrshire.

According to report, Reuben has already been to the club while Idris is getting set to begin the trip. Both players agreed to sign a long-term contract with Kilmarnock FC even though the details of both contract were not made available as Harris refused to comment on it.

Reuben would be very grateful to the Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi who saw to it that local players played significant roles in the Afcon 2013 squad that also emerged African champions, thus opening up career opportunities for local and foreign players alike in the squad.

Though he didn’t play a match in the tournament due illness, Reuben has always been part and parcel of Keshi’s squad since he became the head coach.

Idris on the other hand was dropped from the Afcon 2013 squad due to injury but like Reuben, he has been part of Keshi’s squad as well.
