Winners have emerged in the just concluded election of the North West Zone of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

A total of 14 associations were keenly contested with a serving member of the House of Representatives from Zamfara state, Rep. Aminu Gusau emerging as chairman Athletics Federation while Kabiru Balarabe, also from Zamfara, was elected Badminton chairman.

Mr Musa Nimrod from Kaduna state emerged chairman of the Volley Ball Association of Nigeria and Aminu Kurfi as Tennis chairman.

Other associations contested for include boxing, cricket, handball, taekwando, chess, judo, para soccer and karate.

Speaking to newsmen, at the end of the election held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, the North West Zonal Coordinator, National Sports Commission, Ademola Are charged the new officers to see their victory as a call to service.
